Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp instant yeast
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 cup diced char siu
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp cornstarch slurry
Method
- Make a soft dough with flour, yeast, sugar, water, and oil.
- Let rise until puffy.
- Simmer char siu with sauces and thicken lightly.
- Cool filling completely.
- Fill and seal buns.
- Proof briefly and steam 10–12 minutes.
